MISSION

MISSION

Our mission is born from a simple conviction: we serve Jesus Christ by serving people, especially where life hurts, becomes fragile, or needs hope. As the Congregation of Missionary Daughters of the Heart of Mary, we live a charity that is humble, close, and concrete—attentive to what each moment in history asks of us.

“The distinctive ministry of the Institute is charity… serving Jesus Christ in the person of our brothers and sisters.”

— Constitutions

What do we mean by mission?

Our own mission is the apostolic practice of charity in its many expressions, and responding to the needs of the moment in the Church and in the world. It’s not only about “doing things”: it’s a way of living, of seeing, and of walking alongside others, shaped by the Gospel.

Where does it become visible?

Charity takes on a human face in very concrete places, especially:

Education at Educandário Madre Güell (Brazil): learning and accompaniment in the school community
Education: we accompany human and spiritual growth—especially where the need is greatest.
  • Caring for the sick and those who suffer, looking after the whole person with respect and tenderness.
  • Education, accompanying human and spiritual growth—especially where the need is greatest.
  • Catechesis and proclaiming the faith, with simplicity and sound preparation, trusting that faith is God’s gift.
  • Responding to new needs, because Christian charity knows how to “read” the times and set out on the road.

How do we serve?

We serve from a spirituality that unites prayer and action: in intimate union with God, with humility and simplicity, following the example of the Virgin Mary. We believe true charity does not humiliate: it uplifts; it does not intrude: it accompanies; it does not seek the spotlight: it does good and moves on.

A mission for today’s world

Today, mission often unfolds across many quiet “frontiers”: loneliness, mental health struggles, hidden poverty, exhausted families, young people without a horizon, older people without companionship… That is where we want to be: a presence of hope, through concrete gestures, and with the style of charity that our Foundress passed on to us.

If you would like to collaborate (through prayer, sharing our mission, volunteering, or supporting our works), we would be glad to hear from you. Mission grows when it is shared.
