The Congregation of the Missionary Daughters of the Heart of Mary was founded on 14 September 1899 at the Hospital of Cervera (Lleida), under the inspiration of Mother María Güell y Puig. Since then, we have walked as a religious family in the Church, guided by the Holy Spirit and sustained by love for the Heart of Jesus and the Heart of Mary.

As consecrated women, we seek the glory of God, our sanctification, and the good of people, uniting prayer and life, community and mission.

Our charism

The charism inherited from our Foundress and recognized by the Church is the following of Christ along the path of the evangelical counsels, living the Gospel in the exercise of charity with simplicity and humility, in the light and example of the Virgin Mary.

Our mission

Our proper mission is the apostolic exercise of charity in its various expressions and attention to the needs of the present moment in the Church and in the world, with special closeness to those who suffer, especially in the care of the sick and in the ministry of education.
